Dr. Christiane Northrup lectures on the Healing Power of Joy:

Study after study has demonstrated that our states of consciousness directly and powerfully affect every cell, organ, and biological function in our bodies. The biologic states that are created by pleasure, ecstasy, joy, and a sense of reward are hard-wired into our brains and bodies long before birth. The desire to go after what we really want in life is part of our innate inner guidance system. We are pleasure-seeking, goal-oriented creatures by nature.
Throughout our lives, each of us is called upon to learn how to effectively balance the dynamic tension between going after what we really want (our heartfelt desires) vs. doing what it takes to be accepted by others. This dynamic tension plays itself out in issues around money, sex, and power (e.g. “If you really loved me, you’d give me the money I need to pay off my credit card debt.”) Money, sex, and power issues affect the health of our second chakras (pelvic organs, lower bowel, and low back) and beliefs about these areas are handed down in families. The end result is endometrioisis, infertility, pelvic pain, fibroids, prostate problems, and so on. As an ob/gyn physician, I have spent over 20 years helping women and their mates become conscious of their second chakra beliefs and learn how to transform them with joy and pleasure.

Moving toward joy and avoiding unnecessary pain is part of creating vibrant health. This lecture will present practical, uplifting ways to uncover your second chakra programming, transform it, and in the process, experience more pleasure, joy, prosperity, fulfillment, fun, and power in your life.
Christiane Northrup, M.D. is a visionary pioneer and beloved authority in the field of women’s health and wellness. A board-certified OB/GYN physician who graduated from Dartmouth Medical School and did her residency at Tufts New England Medical Center, Dr. Northrup was also an assistant clinical professor of OB/GYN at Maine Medical Center for over 20 years. Recognizing the unity of body, mind, and spirit, Dr. Northrup helps empower women to tune in to their innate inner wisdom to transform their health and their lives. Dr. Northrup is the author of two New York Times best-selling books, Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom (Bantam, revised 2006) and The Wisdom of Menopause (Bantam, revised 2006). Her third book, Mother-Daughter Wisdom, was a 2005 Quill Award nominee and voted Amazon’s #1 book of the year in both parenting and mind-body health in 2005. She has also hosted six highly successfully public television specials. Her latest, Menopause and Beyond: New Wisdom for Women, began airing nationwide in March 2007. Her work has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the Today Show, NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, The View, and Good Morning America. Melt My Heart Fire & Ice Shows:
“Melt My Heart" Speed Carve Ice Shows:
Watch in amazement, as highly skilled Ice Carvers battle it out on stage to win the hearts of the audience. Each preliminary round will host three carvers. One will be eliminated at the beginning of the round by a silent audience vote based on creative heart pedestals each carver was allowed to prepare earlier. The two remaining carvers will be allowed one hour to speed carve a three hundred pound block of ice into a randomly drawn theme object. At that time their sculpture will be placed on their Ice Heart pedestal and, you guessed it, the audience does another silent vote and the loser gets their heart melted during a fantastic light and sound show.

The winner moves on to the final round and will battle it out for the coveted "Melt my Heart" Heart of Gold trophy.
