They will track bird species identified throughout the weekend. Equipment demos, book signings, and lectures will also be scheduled!

Join them for their Annual Plant Sale, Saturday May 21st, for annuals, perennials, seedlings and more. Check out their great selection of plants donated by friends, neighbors and volunteers. Why not support the Farm while enhancing your landscaping with local tried-and-true favorites? Best of all the Plant Sale is free! Celebrate their Spring Festival on 626 breathtaking oceanfront acres, June 4th. There will be demonstrations, activities, live music, food, face painting, and hayrides. Opportunities to explore the trails and gardens, interact with the animals, learn about seeds and plants, and try your hand at fiber arts will be abundant!

Find a new bike or walking trail to start the season off right! Freeport Conservation Trust is a grassroots land trust dedicated to sharing Freeport’s special natural places, valued for recreation, wildlife habitat, clean water, farming, forestry and scenic beauty. They have an extensive list of walking trails that extend to all areas of Freeport. Map out your next stroll, and adventure on. For a scenic bike route for all levels visit Explore Maine by Bike, and they will have all you need to know for stunning treks in the area.

If you have always wanted to try Kayaking or Paddleboarding, but didn’t know where to start L.L.Bean hosts a PaddleSports Weekend! Paddlers will have the chance to test hundreds of kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddle boards. See the latest equipment, talk with top vendors, attend lectures and seminars and spend time on the water. Bring the family and stay a few hours or spend the weekend. No matter what your skill level, you’re bound to discover something new. Scheduled for June 3rd – 5th 2016.

Girlfriends Getaway is back! Scheduled for June 10th – 12th. Plan your weekend away to shop, dine, play and stay. Many hotels and B&B’s will have special packages and most are within walking distance to town. Stores will be teeming with sales, style tips, custom fittings and more. Keep an eye out for tastings, giveaways, and special events all over town. On Friday, June 10th there will be a new signature event hosted by FreeportUSA; Parkside Prelude, Kick off the Summer in High Spirits! New England alcohol purveyors will be offering samples, as well as local chefs and food producers, enjoy live music and play lawn games like Bocce, Giant Jenga, Lawn Bowling, Cornhole and of course… Bean Boot Tossing!

For those with a love for all things historic, The Freeport Historical Society will be hosting some wonderful events!  May 19th will be the Opening Reception of their new exhibit, “Freeport Artists of the Past.” Focusing on people who lived and created works of art in Freeport between 1870 and 1950. You can visit this exhibit through December. The Annual Harborside Barbecue and Gala will take place at Wolfe’s Neck Farm, June 23rd. One will find a BBQ Dinner, live music, live and silent auction, all for a great cause! If your looking for fun with the whole family, on June 25th  The Harraseeket Heritage Day will include a reading by The Circus Ship author, Chris Van Dusen, lunch, circus style snacks, music, and more family fun activities!
